Palm Beach County, Florida is located on the East Coast of Florida above Ft. Lauderdale. Palm Beach County has a population of over 1.3 million and it is the third most populated county in the State of Florida. Over half of the moving violations issued last year were for unlawful speed. In addition, there were over 10,000 citations written for careless driving. Many of those citations were written by officers following accident investigations. Given the massive amount of people in the county, law enforcement is often called to the scene of crashes and officers routinely issue citations to at fault motorists.
Aside from civil infractions, law enforcement in Palm Beach County issued just shy of 50,000 criminal citations last year. Almost one-third of the citations were issued for inviduals charged with driving while license suspended in violation of Florida Statute 322.34. Other common violations included driving under the influence (DUI), leaving the scene of an accident in violation of Florida Statute 316.061, and no valid driver’s license in violation of Florida Statute 322.03.
Because of the size of Palm Beach County, there are several courthouses. The main courthouse in located at 205 North Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach, Florida 33401. At that courthouse there are 12 county court Judges. They include Mark Eissey, Sandra Bosso-Pardo, Laura Johnson, Joseph Marx, Reginald Corlew, Janis Keyser, Barry Cohen, Ted Booras, Peter Evans, Debra Moses Stephens, Frank Castor, and Paul Damico.
There is a South County Courthouse located at 200 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444. At that location there is one County Court Judge, James Martz, and three Circuit Court Judges. There is another courthouse located in Belle Glade, Florida. That courthouse is located at 38844 State Road 80, Belle Glade, Florida 33430. The infamous storytelling Judge Nelson Bailey is assigned to the Courthouse where he presides over criminal and civil cases. There is another courthouse in Palm Beach Gardens at 3188 PGA Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. There is one county court Judge assigned to the courthouse. The final courthouse is located at 3228 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406.
