A Gainesville man has been charged with drunk driving, driving without a license in a stolen car and a litany of other crimes following a police chase. Steve Doby was booked into the Alachua County Jail Sunday morning and charged with DUI, driving without a license, grand theft auto, resisting arrest and fleeing or attempting to elude police.

According to police reports published in The Gainesville Sun, Doby was speeding early Sunday morning when officers tried to pull him over. The 37-year-old failed to stop for the officers and then swerved across the road during the chase. He eventually abandoned the stolen car at a dead end and a foot chase ensued.
