A sixth-grade student at an Osceola Middle School was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon. According to TampaBay.com 69-year-old Taygeti Rigakos illegally passed a stopped school bus and hit Jacqueline M. Jeffery as she got off her bus. The young girl was taken to the hospital. Here injuries do not appear to be life threatening according to the story.
Rigakos was issued a traffic citation for passing a stopped school bus. According to records, Rigakos received a traffic ticket in 2003 for failing to yield and elected to go to traffic school. In 2000 she was cited for leaving the scene of an accident. She pled no contest to that hit and run charge, paid a fine and adjudication was withheld.
