St. Johns County Florida is located in the greater Jacksonville area. The population of the county is close to 165,000, with the population due in part to many people from Jacksonville moving into the county. There were almost 30,000 moving violations issued to St. Johns County motorists last year. Most of the moving violations were issued by the St Johns County Sheriffs Office, but the Florida Highway Patrol issued over 8,000 speeding tickets last year. In addition, there are police departments in St. Augustine and Augustine Beach which assist in arresting and/or ticketing motorists.
Law enforcement is St. Johns County issued over 4,000 criminal violations to motorists in the county last year. About one-half of the criminal violations were issued for no valid driver’s license or driving while license suspended. However, hundreds of citations were also issued for reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, violation of a driver’s license restriction, and no vehicle tag.

There are two St. Johns County court Judges, Patti Christensen and Charles Tinlin.
