Hamilton County
Hamilton County Florida is located just off interstate 75 north of interstate 10. Because the interstate runs throught the county, ticket numbers are higher than in comparable counties of its size. Hamilton county is on the Georgia state line and the county seat is located in Jasper. Aside from the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office, the cities of Jasper, Jennings, and White Springs all have municipal or city police agencies.
In 2007 there were close to 3,000 citations issued for moving violations. Of those citations over 2,000 were issued for unlawful speed. The Florida Highway Patrol issued close to 1,400 speeding tickets using laser, radar, speedometer pace, and aircraft speed enforcement.
The Sheriffs Office issued over 300 non-criminal violations in 2007. Of those, almost 80 percent were for unlawful speed. Law enforcement made 50 DUI arrests in the county, most of those being done by the Florida Highway Patrol.
