Hendry County
Hendry county is located in centalsouthwest Florida east of Ft. Myers. The county has undergone some growth in the last 5-10 years. Hendry county is in Florida’s twentieth Judicial Circuit. Hendry county has one Circuit Court Judge, Alane Laboda and one County Court Judge, James Sloan.
The primary law enforcement agency is the Hendry County Sheriffs Office, but the towns of Clewiston and Labelle also have their own police departments. Law enforcement in Hendry County issued over 3,700 moving violations last year with a majority of them being issued for unlawful speed. The Florida Highway Patrol Troop F has troopers that are assigned to the county and their major function is traffic control and prevention.
Individuals traveling across the State of Florida often pass through Hendry county as it is a main thoroughfare for motorists. Aside from civil infraction, law enforcement in the county issued over 2,000 criminal citations for everything from reckless driving, driving under the influence, no valid driver’s license and driving while license suspended.
